Book Review: The Art of Overwatch, Volume 2

The Art of Overwatch, Volume 2 - 01

This is a terrific artbook just like the artbook for first game.

This is a 368-page hardcover that features the concept art for Overwatch. The colour reproduction looks great on the low gloss pages. Artworks are reproduced large. The binding for such a thick book looks sturdy and durable.

The book packed with a huge variety of dynamic and interesting character designs with style. What I really like is the anime art style for the characters, but there's a lot more details compared to artbooks for Japanese animation. If you're into character design, this is a book to be excited about.

There's also a good amount of environment art, and art created for the seasonal events, and miscellanous art for weapons, props, posters, splash art, skins, animated shorts and chibi characters.

For the text, there are origin stories for the characters, and commentary on designs. There's a lot to read so it's actually quite an insightful book on how the characters and artworks are created.

This is a wonderful video game artbook I can recommend easily for fans of the game and those who love character designs.

I wanna get into it, is it worth getting both of the volumes or just the second one or the first one?

@Itay
Both are really good artbooks and hence are worth the money. So it really comes down to how much you want to spend.

You can get the first volume first if shipping is free. Then decide whether to get the 2nd volume.
